Coming to Bangkok for a few days has been a great way of putting off going back home!
Enjoyed the couple of pre-arranged tours to the various temples and to Kanchaniburi....where the bridge on the River Kwei is/was (a couple of hours out of Bangkok). This proved to be a bit 'touristy' but the small, dignified Jeath War Museum and the war graves, some way from the bridge, were quite moving.
Getting round Bangkok proved to be fairly easy (and very cheap) using both the Skytrain and the subway which although very crowded were pretty fast and efficient.
The weather has been incredibly hot and humid despite the occasional heavy downpour as it is the rainy season at the moment. The place is teaming with traffic, noise, people, shopping malls, markets, bars, places to eat inside and out...everywhere is a place to eat really!
Well, flying home this afternoon.....!
The End
