Well, after months of talking and preparing, we finally left Australia two weeks ahead of schedule, because Loche has been asked to do a bit more work in Mongolia.

We left very quickly once our Mongolian Visas arrived and flew out to Tokyo (via Cairns) on Thursday 2 Feb 2012. This afternoon (Friday 3 Feb), we are flying from Tokyo to Ulaanbaatar. At the moment the temperature in Tokyo is about 2 degrees C and when we were waiting for our hotel transfer last night my ears started to feel very very cold - really not sure how I'm going to handle the -30 degrees it currently is in Ulaanbaatar. Not long now till we find out!!

We had a slight hiccup in Cairns - they refused to check us into the flight because we did not have a return ticket out of Mongolia. Loche quickly sorted this out and booked us a flight out of Ulaanbaatar to Hong Kong on the 23rd of Feb.

Cara absolutely loved her first ride in the aeroplane especially in the beautifully large seats in business class from Cairns to Tokyo. Because of our 4am start from Brisbane, she was exhausted and slept for over 3 hours.
