Glad you got there in one piece - even if the car didn't quite. I hope there were no more speeding tickets since you seem to have got there earlier than you expected. You certainly picked the right way to do things - starting down south then moving north. Glad you managed to miss the snow in Melbourne. Would have been a bit of a bummer to go all that way just to get snowed on! I think not getting the train was probably a good thing - made it more of an adventure. (Not sure about dodging camping fees though - can't believe you got up that early) I had a night out in Prestwick last night - the band was playing a gig and it was just up the road from Linda's (she left work on Wednesday) so it turned into a bit of another leaving do. I'm a bit cream crackered today cos the bus didn't get back till about 2am, but I didn't turn into a pumpkin. Anyway, more caffeine needed to wake me up. Looking forward to the parcel and more postcards. xxx

Hi Laura
Great photos on your road trip, it looks totally tropical, no idea what the birds are except for the pelican. All quiet here, off to Toberboring on Dull for three days, so will catch up with you when I get back. Got invites to Kes 30th(imagine wee kerry 30 already), its a hawaiian do so will need to look out something to wear that isnt black, shame you will miss it, there will be some sights that night. Andy and Karolyn seemed to have a good time in Ibiza, andy nearly has a tan... amazing. Well off on my travels stay safe and keep enjoying it

Hey guys. Finally managing to get a few photos on line for you! Have put on some more from Melbourne but not sure how far I will get as I don't have much time. We are in Katherine now on day 3 of our road trip. Been having an amazing time but will add a postcard as soon as possible to fill you all in with what we've been up to.
Laura, great to hear from you! I didn't even know you had been to Oz! Looks like we have all ended up coming to the other side of the world since finishing uni!! Glad you had a great time, we can share stories when I get home!!
Hey Liz. I'm glad you have managed to get things sorted out and get down to Newcastle after all your planning. I'm sure you will have a ball down there and hopefully won't miss Glasgow (and especially CF!) too much! As for me filling your job .... hm, I'm not sure! That's the last thing on my mind just now! Hopefully we can catch up soon chick. Take care and keep in touch :0) xx

Laura G
Hey Laura! It's Laura G from Uni here. Know not contacted u in a while, but just got back from Oz myself! Travelled for 6 months and had a ball. I totally loved Sydney, and we went up the east coast and then to Melbourne. Unfortunately never got to Perth (but it looks great), Ayers Rock or the Great Ocean Road - but hopefully I'll get back out again to complete my tour. You'll meet so many great people, and it will be an experience (a good one!) you will never forget. Take care luv Laura xxx

Yo again, sounds like fun out there, can't wait to see the Uluru pics. Bummer about the train, but I'm glad you got a car sorted. Will you be going up through Broome on your way? Tom said it was a good party place, and I think that's where the 'stairway to heaven' is. No guitar solos necessary - when the moon shines on the beach, the sea looks like stairs going up to the moon. God knows what he was on when he saw that...
We're busy trying to sort the house for your Gran coming to stay next week, and rapidly running out of rooms to shuffle stuff round into. Sure it'll all be all right on the night. After that, I've only a week left at work, then I'm off until the New Year 'cos Cameron starts school - aaaaaagh! My boy's all growed up!
Have a good trip up to Darwin - watch out for crocs in creeks, there's apparently a lot of it about up that way.
Big hugs from us to you,
xxx

Hi Laura. Sounds like you're having a ball. We all miss you loads!!! Love the pictures. Hope it gets a bit warmer soon so you can take your jacket off at the beach he he!! Well I'm just sending you a wee message to let you know that Im moving down to Newcsatle at the end of the month (finally after blabbing on about it for so long eh?) so I won't be here when you get back! If you're back on time, you are definitely invited to the flat warming party. If not, we will need to catch up some time. Can't wait to hear all your stories and see more photos. You never know, you might get my job when you come back. (Hope that thought hasn't spoiled your trip). Everyone from the team says hi. Take care, Liz x x x x
Kits And Boons
Hey Laura ! Your bad big cousins here again. I'm back from China now and had a fab. time. Luckily our adventures have not involved getting stuck in sand or a potential stranding. Did do a few train trips though. Incredibly smelly but went on a double decker train to Shanghai. Can't believe u met Paul Robinson. Soooooo jealous ! I spent many a teenage year fancying him. He was sooo dreamy !!! Wasn't sad enough to buy his single though. Didn't MAKE ME FEEL GOOD !!!! Am at K's and Mum's for a few days before I have to go back to stupid school. Can't believe the holidays are nearly finished all ready.Have spent the last few days in a slave labour sweat shop writing invitations for K's 30th Hawaiian party. Kes really wishes that u could be there but I'm sure you'll be having just as much fun and at least you have a genuine excuse for not wearing a stupid grass skirt and being forced to hula hoop and limbo dance.I'm sure Andy will look good in his coconut shell bikini and grass skirt combo.Me K, Mum and Dad spent 5 hours putting up a marquee in the garden yesterday. It was interesting trying to avoid the dog, cats and bees !!!!!And, wait for it....., hens !!! My parents are now the proud owners of 4 hens - Sporty, Ginger, Posh and Baby !!!!!I think it will be goats next ! Glad to see that you are still safe, having fun and a great social life.Keep up the good work with the diary and photos. I'll grade you an A+ for effort and quality of information gathered. Rock on babes !!!!!!
Lisa

G'Day there Sheila - or have you changed your name to Matilda yet? How was the camping? Was it real camping-using tents? Can't say that would be my cup of tea - but each to their own. Don't know that I'll be able to check in for the web cam wave. I tried the site earlier but it didn't seem to want to play; then again it could be down to our computer, cos it's playing silly bu**ers with my emails at the moment anyway. Looking forward to your next update and hearing if you met any swagmen down at the billabong or at least avoided the dingos and assorted bugs and beasties out there in the outback. xxx
