Arrived in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon - later than planned but seemed quicker than expected! Our hostel is called Annie's Place and seems cool. We are in a 6 bed female dorm with our own bathroom, which is good! Yesterday we just had a wander around the town with one of our roomies, Holly. Then in the evening we went to Anzac Hill to watch the sunset! We had read about this place in the Lonely Planet book and I guess many people read that book as it qot quite busy! It was nice and pretty though. Today we went to see the Alice Springs base of the Royal Flying Doctors Service, which was pretty interesting to find out about! After that we went across the road to the Reptile Centre (Alice is pretty small so we don't need to go far for things!) We spent about half an hour looking at all the snakes, lizards, frogs and Terry the Crocodile and then there was a talk and touching session (...you know what I mean!) This was really cool - we got to hold different lizards and a big snake, ooh!! We are off on our 3-day camping trip tomorrow so we will need to get organised for that tonight. We are really looking forward to it! So you won't hear from us for a few days but we will fill you in when we get back. On Saturday night we are planning to go to a pub in Alice called Bojangles. It is a proper saloon with the swinging doors etc, but the coolest thing is that it has a 24 live web broadcast - so you can all log on and watch us getting drunk and making a fool of ourselves, ha, ha!!! We will probably be going down about 10pm on Saturday and will be there until closing - which is apparently any time between midnight and 6am!
