Leaving the world of traveling and returning home!
Firstly the long delay in wrighting this blog, being home time goes even faster it would seem, leaving dubai on tuesday the 4th. I never described my last day in dubai, the monday the 3rd i saw the last bit of geography i had hoped to see the dessert and the sand dunes, mondays weather brung some light sand storms very hasy and windy, although stil above 40degrees witch was very hard to get used to! The drive out of abu dabi leaving pale white sands and driving towards darker orangey red sands, walking on the dunes...the heat is so intense in teh air and the sand itself. Only spending 15minutes exploring before gladly back into teh air conditioned car. It would certainly take me a long time to aclimatise to such an intense heat! It was a great way to spent my last day, along with visiting another mall and hotel complext designed in traditional style of buildings.
It was a 4 days of complete contrasts and another eye opening experience, the united arab emerites, really is worth visiting to epen your eyes to how other places work and opperate apose to europe, it is an incredable place. I would re visit but couldnt spend more than several days, the intense heat and the contrast of worlds takes alot to get used to, however an experience i am glad to have had and seen.
And there was the 4 days experience and 31/2 month adventure;time to fly home, the flight to glasgow an intant feeling of flying home with the sounds of strong scottish acents amongst the majority of passengers. The flight onlye 71/2 hours, witch felt like 3 as i tryed to complete my travel journal. Returning to scotish air once again...finding the cold air a little chilly to begin with. My instant thoughts were of how small everything felt, from looking up at buildings in dubai and the rugged topograohy of new zealand! then to rolling hills as scotland returns into sight, which seemed alot bigger before i left! Home nerver really changes, but thats the hard part as you change but home stays the same and its how to tranfer what youve seen done and learnt into home life once again!
Since returning home ive now returned back to work, working being at a tree nursery where i will be working until university begins in september. Over the next 3-4 months until then i will be working as much as i can, and planning adventures in scotland, relising ofourse how easy it is to travel in your own country. I hope to plan several walking adventures along with gladly geting back to dog walking and cycling and ofcourse playing footbal! i will continue with my blogs over the next few months as i settle into being back at home. Ofocourse home is where the heart is although i certainly have a heart that aspires to travel and explore a great deal beyond the comfort of that place you call home. after a week im realy to start adventuring all over again!
scotland realy will struggly to hold onto me for more than afew weeks after the travels i have just had!

Peter Aikman Unless I am very wrong, you are one and the same girl whose entries in the bothy book. I was reading today at The Schoolhouse ( and porridge was another clue ). It is none of my business, I am only the humble M.O. of the bothy, but are you aware of a family in Ullapool who left a notice on the blackboard a couple of years ago " My granny went to school here...."
