We arrived in Byron Bay around 6.00pm so we were lucky to get into a caravan park before they closed for the evening. Had a stroll around the town and checked out the beach where we were going to be spending the whole of the next day!
Byron Bay is a lovely town, with gorgeous little cafes and restaurants all built around the fab beach. We got beautiful fresh swordfish in a fish shop downtown and brought it back and got the BBQ going in the camp kitchen. Absolutely gorgeous!
The next morning we went to Cape Byron Lighthouse and we reached the most easterly point in Australia! We stayed for a bit and took it all in before we headed back down to Byron Bay beach. Stayed there for the rest of the day, came back the next morning for another few hours before finally dragging ourselves up off the sand. Really did not want to leave Byron Bay and it is definitely somewhere we will go back to again some day.
That afternoon we started our journey again and headed for Port Macquarie.
Byron Bay Done!
