11th March - I woke up the next day in Hannah's single bottom bunk bed; I think we had a little spoon after our night out and I decided to stay snuggled under the duvet with her, despite my bed being the one directly above our heads. I always find that waking up next to someone who's just as hungover as you, much more enjoyable.
Any-hoo, we were leaving Los Angeles today and heading to San Diego. But beforehand, we decided to take a tour for a little exploring around Beverley Hills. I've never seen so many beautiful houses in my life!! Massive mansions.. those to include: Mariah Carey's, Adam Sandler's, Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie's, Hugh Heffner's playboy mansion and the house that sadly the king of pop, Michael Jackson, passed away in. We got taken to Rodeo drive where all the designer shops are.. It's like a shopping neighbourhood for the rich and famous! On the way, we saw some guy called Iced Tea, who I've been told is a famous rapper in the U.S(?), eating his lunch outside a restaurant. We headed back to our hostel afterwards to grab our bags in order to dash to catch our bus to San Diego. We were travelling with a guy called Tommy. Phil and Zeb had already gone to San Diego this morning but had kindly booked our dorm beds for us in the same room! We ended up getting to the hostel around 9pm. Me and Hannah decided to sort our lives out and do some blogging, while the boys headed out for some beers. It wasn't long until they were back, lugging some beers back into our dive of a hostel room. Being the open and friendly people we are, we left the door open and soon enough, some drunk people came stumbling in! Our room turned into the hub of drinking activity - where half the hostel decided to hang out for the remainder of the night. There were a couple of Americans, Australians and an English guy. An incredibly annoying young girl called Shelby was as high as a kite and was falling into and knocking everything over. Absolute tool. It's lucky I'm more chilled out these days, otherwise my gold ring decorated fingers would've taken a liking to her 18 year old fresh peachey face. After a couple of hours of mentalness.. We all headed to bed.
12th March - me and Hannah woke up with the intent of having a productive day.. Either going to the zoo or going to Mexico. Unfortunately, neither of these did happen. Instead, we headed off for a wee walk with the boys.. Along the beaches in search for a couple of pubs. The walk was pretty cold yet beautiful - the coastal areas of San Diego were freezingggg as they're covered by cloud, but at least we would be at a pub soon. Minutes passed.. And yet no sign of a pub. I thought all men had some sort of in-built compass to find a pub. It's in their make up? I was wrong. We headed back to the hostel for a team nap and then went out for a group dinner.. as we were in San Diego it would be wrong not to have a Mexican! As it is so close to the border - there are Mexicans everywhere. We all had another chilled night as we were getting up early the next day for a family day out at the zoo! My fave <3
13th March - Zoo time! Yayyyy! :D I was most looking forward to this.. I am a big kid so this would be my perfect day out. It was made even better by the glorious sunshine. Animals + tanning = perfect! We spent the whole day wandering about and staring at all the creatures. I have always found animals fascinating since I was little. I don't know why - maybe it's the unknown.. Like, do they talk to each other? Do they laugh? What is even going on inside their heads? I'd love to know. And it's something that I spend a lot of my time asking myself and trying to conjure up answers that I can't even explain. I suppose that's the fun of it. My favourite animals I saw would have to be (as usual) the monkeys and orangutans. They are such crazy characters! Intriguing to watch. However much to my disappointment, the gorillas had been taken away :( A much exciting factor of my day though, had to have been seeing a panda for the first time in my life. Such a beautiful animal. It doesn't even look real, while it chews happily on its bamboo. I think it would be fair to say we had an awesome day out at the zoo. A day to end our short, but very sweet, travel with the boys as they were moving elsewhere in San Diego in the evening. Me and Hannah decided not to move as we would be leaving in them morning and heading to Las Vegas!!! Excitement doesn't even come close!
