Liz's Travels
Ok so after a couple of days wandering around China town, visiting the towers and the huge shopping malls I left KL for Melaka, a smaller more historic town two hours South of KL. (I have to confess though I ended up going to the cinema and having hot chocolate in Starbucks in KL, not true traveller style I know but it was a much needed pick me up!!)
To be honest I wasn't that sad to say bye to the big KL, but it had been an experience! I got on another truly local bus but did manage to sit next to a Polish guy so at least there was a little bit of conversation!
We arrived around lunchtime in Melaka on the express bus that seemed to stop at any and every place possible! We headed for a guesthouse that was highly recommended in all guide books and luckily they had rooms! Things were looking up as this place has a lounge to hand out in and kitchen to cook your own food, so there was chance to meet more travellers.
Melaka is quite a sweet historic town, I spent yesterday doing all the touristy things of going to the museums, having a trickshaw ride around town and checking out the shopping mall. In the evening a few of us headed to the night markets of china town, and had quite an experience getting food at a local restaurant...noodles or more noodles anyone?! But we finished it off with fried ice cream...yes thats right fried icecream...and it was good!!After several rounds of Uno it was back to the guesthouse.
So here I am, another day in this little town then off to Singapore for a couple of nights!
Sorry I am still so far behind with pictures, I have loads of really good ones from Thailand but the computers here are historic too so you'll have to wait to see my smiling face again!
love me xxx
