First of all, I have eventually rotated all the new pictures that we uploaded from NZ........sorry for any headaches caused with that.....!
Our night out with the Aussie lads was pretty eventful (from what we're told, we can't remember much ha ha). They took us on the train to Richmond to a really cool club which was loads of fun. Thanks guys. Spent the following day chilling out watching the Melbourne Cup and wandering on the beach in the sun. That night we caught a night bus to Sydney.
Sydney is pretty cool, we met Ben (a guy who we'd been travelling NZ with) and he took us to the Opera House, Darling Harbour, Harbour Bridge and the Botanical Gardens, all in all, a pretty busy day. It felt rather surreal seeing the Opera House in real life. It's one of those iconic things that you only ever see on postcards. I must admit, it's a bit yellow in real life!
That night we went to the cinema with some free cinema tickets which was nice and relaxing.
Thursday we wandered round the city and did a lot of window shopping then met a friend, Jemma for a FREE dinner in a bar then polished off a few cheeky drinks before having a relatively early night.
After spending a few days in the city we headed a little way out of the hustle and bustle to stay with our friend Keith who we met in Mendoza. We went to see Bondi beach, but unfortunately it rained so it looked pretty pants and we shivered our way back to the train. That night we went out with a bunch of friends after playing killer pool in Keiths apartment.
On Sunday we caught the ferry to Manly Beach. It was a beautiful day and the ferry journey was beautiful. You sail between the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House, amazing. Manly was busy and we took a long walk along the beach, watched (and got involved in) some street theatre, then grabbed some fish and chips (still not found any quite as good as Scottish fish and chip suppers yet!).
We are going to a place called Byron Bay on another night bus. It's supposed to be a really cool, low-rise, little hippy town. We are excited to get out of the city now and get the tent set up.
Apologies for the slightly boring blog, made us realise we need to get out more and stop drinking as much............ :)
Lots of love to you all

Dad G'day. It's still good to read all about your adventures (even if your perspective is through the bottom of a glass). It's nice to hear that you are having company along the way and all the fun and games associated with that. You do seem to be developing the knack of finding 'free' activities too, excellent. You need to do all you can to make the travel fund s-t-r-e-t-c-h out until June 2011. June 2011 - still a long way to go! I'm pleased that you enjoyed the sights in Sydney, obviously the hike over the bridge was too many Oz$ for your budget, but the ferry through the harbour sounds perfect. Back home today we have gone from Manly Beach weather to Bondi Beach weather in the space of 30mins - and it looks to be in for the day. There's another good reason for you not to be here. Could be a busy Xmas? In the meantime enjoy your camping extravaganza and the rest of your time in Oz. Big love xXx
Momma Hiya you two intrepid travellers, Well Oz sounds fun ....glad that you are managing to stay with a few of your friends that you have met along the way. We are really excited that the time will soon be here for us all to meet up. Rich would like you to meet him at the airport in Bangkok so you will need to put on your alarms as he lands at about 7.25 am !!! HAPPY TRAVELLING....STILL MISS YOU MUCHO !XXXXXXXXXXX
