I'm afraid we don't have many poductive activities to report this time, been keeping things fairly cheap and relaxed as we don't have long left :(
Vang Vieng was great fun we found a brilliant, cheap guesthouse with Steph and Alex and basically enjoyed the bar and restaurant scene for a day or two.
We spent a day doing the infamous (amongst the backpacking contingent) tubing. This involves floating down a river, with or without the aid of a tractor inner tyre and stop off regularly at bars on the riverside for a beer, bucket or shot of disgusting but free Mekong Whiskey! At each bar there are a variety of super high rope swings, slides, jumping decks and zip lines....all very dangerous and very fun. I, unfortunately decided not to risk it with a fractured rib but Adds and Alex went for it and gandered off to prove their manly caveman qualities. Luckily nobody from our group was injured as we saw plenty of crutches, bandages and limps in the daytime around town.
We didn't stay as long as planned as we needed to get to Vientiene, get a Thai visa which takes two days then get down into Thailand for a final stint of beach living before the dreaded...hometime!!!!
We didn't do much in Vientiene, mainly because there is nothing to do. A big attraction is a huge fountain but it didn't even have water in it. We ended up meeting this great American girl called Marlee who we spent a few days chilling out with eating, playing cards and drinking beer and wine with.
When our visas were sorted we booked a night bus across the Laos border into Thailand to take us to Bangkok where we once again met up with Alex and Steph.
Not long until we see you all now, yay. Can't wait to eat some cheese, proper bread, sausage and mash, cereal and drink milk and cider mmmmmmm :)

Momma M Well the cheese ,sausage and mash ,cereal sounds fine but milk and cider togethr sounds pretty gross he he. So it's countdown time just like when we teachers were on countdown after the summer hols ugh! Once you have been back a few days you will feel like you haave never been away. Back to reality and moving on with your life....but just think what a life changing experience you have had.I am sure that you will now have more focus on what it is you want /where you would like to be /and how you are going to acheive you new dreams. I have faith in the new you and cannot wait to see you again spending quality time together as a family. So little one enjoy the rest of your last few weeks travelling and just think how lucky you are.Love you squillions xxxxx
Dad I wouldn't dream of telling you how many days it is to home-time, but for me it's a very manageable number. I can't believe how quickly the year has gone really. I know we met up halfway at Bangkok so it has only been 6 month stretches but even so... 12 months in (almost) the blink of an eye. I bet it just stretches into infinity for you two... all the sights and people and smells and buses and sounds and the soups. All in all a very different life for a time. What next??? Well, I know you're in Thailand now and no doubt you're both having a very cultural and meaningful time... right! I hear you're having a visitor too. OK, that's it for now. Enjoy the rest of the big adventure, see you soon xXx
