We received a warm welcome to Adelaide from my family - Aunty & Uncle Joan and Chris, cousin Sarah (who I hadn't seen for about 19 years), husband Terry and Chloe and Bradley (who I had never had the chance to meet before). We spent the weekend with Sarah's clan visiting the wildlife park to feed the animals, enjoying the view from Mount Lofty with a cold beer and a very windy trip to Victor Harbour and Granite Island! So much going on but we didn't feel far from home with a Saturday night curry and Singstar and a Sunday roast in between.
We spent the rest of the week with Joan and Chris at the home in Hallett Cove overlooking the sea.We enjoyed a long walk or occasionally a jog along the boardwalk every day.Sam and I took a couple of trips into the city including a visit to the Adelaide market for the groceries (we got most of the carefully written list correct).Joan and Chris organised several special days matched with perfect weather - a long walk to Glenelg with a delicious marina lunch at the end followed by a trip into the city to see the Northern Lights (see pics), a morning on the beach and a sunset dinner at Marino Rocks and a tour of the Mclaren Valley wineries. This day out included Chapel Hill, Hardy's and Woodstock wineries where we enjoyed lots of tastings before a bakery lunch outside at the Onkaparinga National Park.
The week was finished off with an equally busy weekend tasting BBQ'd kangaroo at Sarah & Terry's, one of Chris' vintage car shows and a wander around Port Adelaide and its market.
Very lucky to be spoilt so much before returning to our strict hostel budget and sawdust for breakfast! Thanks all of you for a great visit to Adelaide.
Off to the airport and a flight to Cairns.

Sarah It was wonderful to have you staying with us even if it was a short stay! We enjoyed meeting Sam, and look forward to many Singstar skype parties to come!
