Second chance at sunrise
Our last day in Siem Reap and we were up at 4.30am again in the hope that this time we would catch a good sunrise. We cycled as fast as possible (legs burning from 2 days exercise after months of none) and as we rode past the lake the sun was starting to rise giving a beautiful view to our journey. We made it to Angkor Wat just in time for a pink cloud backdrop to the iconic temple with its reflection in the water. We took in the view for a while before sneaking inside ahead of the coach loads to look at the intricate carving and take in the sheer size of the place. We found the carving that we had bought a rubbing of the day before and enjoyed our last views of magnificent ruins before slowing cycling back to the hotel and bed (it was only 8.30am by now) for a sleep until lunch time.We woke up hungry and hopped back on our bikes in search of Cambodian fare - to our delight we found a lady selling food from large pots who served up numerous dishes for us for a dollar each.We had enjoyed the people and the sights here in Siem Reap but we were exhausted by the time we left!
