For once I was actually organised and ready before the taxi arrived - imagine that?

Expecting the traffic to be bad one booked the taxi for 5, but even the traffic was ok and I arrived at the airport not long after 6.30

I was flying with China Southern again, mainly because they have a generous luggage allowance - 3 x 23kg. However the art of getting 3 suitcases to weight exactly 23kg was going to be a challenge. While I'd got the total weight pretty spot on, I had 2 underweight cases & one overweight case - I felt like I I was on a tv game show, it took 3 attempts to get them balanced at 23kg each - and they they decided to weigh my hand luggage - which was 2 & a half times over weight at 16kg instead of 7! So I had to get cunning, wear my coat, strap my small handbag to my back underneath & put everything else I could fit in my pockets! I managed to get it down to 10kg at which point I think even the check in clerk had had enough!!

So all that was very stressful! It was then time for a Bloody Mary (double) and make my way to board.

I managed to sleep most of the way (the joy of a night flight!) and soon I was landing in China for the 3rd time in 6 wks!
