After an hour at the gym & a few laps of the pool I set off to explore kangaroo point, the suburb I'll be moving to in a couple of weeks. So far I've only seen it in the dark so though I should check it out in daylight.
It was another bright sunny day, around 22oC. I crossed the storey bridge & dropped down towards the river. My new apartment is set back from the river with parkland in front of it, and to the left was a larger park area where friends & families were having picnics & bbqs.
Walking round the point there was a marina and then the path circled back round towards my apartment where there were some bars & restaurants, one of which had a live jazz singer playing, looks like it's a nice area
I walked along from the point through more parks (inc people picnicking, BBQing & even salsa dancing) past random sculptures and towards the southbank area. On the left were rocky cliffs with rock climbers & abseilers and on my right was the river, and on the edge of the river I could see crabs & lizard like creatures. Rather worryingly, when I passed the sailing club on the edge of the building were markers from recent floods. The 2001 mark was probably around a metre high, the 1974 mark was around 2m high, the 1893 one was around 4 or 5m high & level with the second floor of the building!! Let's hope it doesn't rain!!
Walking onto the southbank was sunnier than when I was here last & buzzing with people. Was a really nice afternoon
