Day 111
Hello again:) I hope you are all doing ok, and summer is fast on it's way for you! Here it is very hot and sticky, and I have managed to get sunburnt for the first time since I left home!
The five days on Ko Samui were fabulous with lots of beach time, snorkelling, kayaking and even a bit of partying! The journey was somewhat of a nightmare, involving two tuk-tuks, two boats and a coach (13 hours in total!) but I'm glad I got to see some of Thailand's famous beaches!
Ko Samui itself is very very touristy; the beaches are beautiful, but crowded and the main street is full of tourist attractions and shops - and we struggled to find Thai food! We had a couple of days on Ko Samui, and did two day trips to other islands (Ko Tao, Ko Nangyuan and Ko Phangnan) and Angthong Marine Park. The area is stunning and the sea is really blue, with lots of fish which all swim really close to the shore and will happily swim right next to you! All in all a fabulous few days.
On Saturday night we booked a trip over to Ko Phangan for the infamous Full Moon Party which was definately an experience! Suffice to say that booking a "superior trip" and paying more for the priviledge is money very poorly spent - we waited for ages both to leave Ko Samui and both to get back and I was horrified by the human race on mass and very drunk away from home - people are unnecessarily rude and very happy to injure other people to get ahead in a queue! The party itself was immense - the beach is split into about 8 sections with different music and lots of bars (not a single non-alcoholic drink in sight!) and other entertainment - glow in the dark painting, fire juggling, stages and of course the water!!
I'm back in Hua Hin now, it was a public holiday today so I still haven't really done any work! Hopefully it will start tomorrow!!
Catch up with you all soon
I miss you lots and lots
