Hey Y'all, so here's to the start of our American adventure. We left Fiji at 11pm sunday night and we arrived in America 1pm sunday afternoon, crazy hey! We arrived at LAX after a great flight, got straight through customs & our bags came out straight away. We grabbed a shuttle to the car rental depo in Inglewood - which is rough as !! We got to choose from about 30 different cars.....well i was in heaven i spent half an hour sitting in all the different makes & models, it came down to the Dodge Avenger & the Pontiac G6 but Daryl was getting pretty bored by now & ordered me to make a quick decision, hmmmmmm...........Pontiac it is then!! Have to say we were a little nervous at the thought of driving in LA, neither of us has driven a left hand drive before and the people here all drive like crazy ass's. Oh & what i didn't realise is that it was the night of the Oscars!! Oh the total chaos......we got to central hollywood & the problem started when we tried to get to our hostel. Were staying right behind the kodak theatre where the oscars are held & all the roads were closed off to traffic. We tried to drive down Hollywood Blv but the security literally ran at us & ordered us to turn around!! After driving around the block 4 times trying to get access to our road we gave up. We pulled up 2 blocks from the hostel & Daryl had to run down & arrange a pass so we could get past the police. While Daryl was sorting that out i was close to tears, weve been up for 2days, he'd been gone half an hour & i was worried a parking attendant would make me move the car & give me a ticket! Thankfully we got it sorted a little later than expected!! Later on we headed to the main strip but you couldn't see much going on as the police had closed most of the roads off to the public so we ended up watching some of the oscars on tv.

This morning we drove to Santa Monica to meet up with my mate Bailey at her house, then we drove over to Malibu for a coffee. We saw Peter Andre & Katie Price with their children, so i took some photos, all the americans were asking me who they were so i guess they're not too well known here! lol After coffee we went back to Santa Monica for a walk on the pier and then we went back to Baileys where we played ready steady cook with limited ingredients!! =)

Next morning we did the touristy thing. We checked out the walk of fame then went into the kodak theatre & got a photo of the Hollywood sign. Had a look around the 'Ripleys Believe It Or Not Museum' which was filled with all wierd & wonderfull things from around the world which was fun. In the afternoon we went to Rodeo Drive to meet Bailey again. We had a walk around all the amazingly posh shops & then we drove around Beverely Hills & Bel Air (especially to see the 'Fresh Prince mansion') We went back to hollywood to get some tea at the pig 'n' whistle, and managed to see the Jonas Brothers arriving for a concert, were not die hard fans but we did take some photos & me & Bailey did a few girlie screams to fit in with the teenage crowd!! hehe.

Were leaving La today to head up the east coast of california to San Francisco......Remember if you're going to San Francisco, be sure to wear pretty flowers in your hair!!
