Edith Falls ( 29th - 2nd June) Edith falls is absolutely gorgeous. We found a great little setup site and felt really at home here. You really have to get in early each day to get a site as it fills up quickly. Many camped in the car park overnight and then the race was on in the morning. Alice Springs Stayed in Alice for almost 2 weeks at the Big 4 MacDonnell Holiday Park. Great park for kids and adults with activities in the evenings such as star talks, wine and cheese, music evenings, 4WD talks and pancake Sundays. Ended up fairly cheap with membership which you pay off in one stay at a Big 4 and they have a 10% discount as well at the present. Left Kings Canyon knowing there were no more free camps from here to Alice so it was going to be a more expensive week. Started off towards Kings Canyon. After a few hours driving we decided to check out the rest area in Salt Creek, last free camp before K.C, to see if it was worth staying a night or continuing on. Still at free camp just outside Uluru. Had a fantastic day yesterday at Kata Tjuta or the Olgas. Drove in and did a great walk to Walpa Gorge. Kids loved the 1 hour return trip walk as it was over rocks and the sheer walls of the gorge were mind blowing. Kids loved yelling and doing animal sounds that echoed all around. We even found some friendly Swiss tourists that were happy to reciprocate the animal sounds giving the feeling of plentiful wildlife. Fascinat...
