Hello People from Laos
What a week ive had. Laos is the best place on earth. Ive been to only 2 places here Vang Vieng and my current Luang Prabang.
Lets firstly start with my first location Vang Vieng, one word comes to mind and that is tubing, oh my god it is craziest thing i have seen in my life but also the most fun i have had in a long long time. Basically it was just a 5 day drink binge, its all just a haze still all i did was go down the river drink buckets and alot of whisky, watching people damage themselves on the slides and zip lines great fun.
Seen a couple of mad things in the tubing broken ankles a girl getting airlifted to Bangkok 25000 dollars and no insurance ouch both were alrite luckily. One night comes to mind for me more than any in Vang Vieng this was the night Emma threw up on me caused me to argue with 5 guys, made me pay a fiver for a bottle of water and from totally looking after her getting 27 mosquito bites good friend you emma (Emma i will pay you back some time in my life). What was even better got to hook up with so many of my travel buddys Laura, Emma, Cat, Li an some new guys big shout out to guy and the hull boys.
Eventually had to leave Vang Vieng just so my vital organs didnt fail i then moved onto Luang Prabang, it is one of the most beautiful places i have been and good to take a couple of days of the drinking. I have done so much here and made some great friends big shout out to my buddies Daffeny, Rachel, Tom, Rob etc
Things what i have done here are as followed visited the waterfalls probably the most beautiful one i have seen plus you can swim in the lagoons there aswell which i did, watched the monks parade at 630am in the morning this was amazing basically food is donated to them from the locals for there students really didn't know this happened and finally, visitng temples culture at last
The most gratifing and humbling thing i have achieved in Luang Prabang is voulntary teaching for some Laos kids, they are the hardest working people ive met and were always willing to learn i just wish i had money to support these guys very humbled, the only problem i had was one of my students telling me about when his dog died he skinned it roasted it and then ate it disgusting, but it was nice to give something back.
On the strange eating front i tried a small bit of rat yesterday not the best by a long shot and something i will never do again.
Leave for Chang Mai today Elephant treking and then Tiger temple cant wait.
Then Cambodia for christmas chilling on a beach, Laura Dykes be ready for the 23rd December to the 26th December because i cannot wait, christmas baby yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, secert santa, secert santa, secert santa i want the best present ever you no this.
Hope everyone is enjoying the cold in the UK im just gonna get back to my 35 degrees of heat now.
peace out
Paul
