Just an hour outside of Billings we stopped at Custer's Last Stand/Battle of Little Bighorn. Standing there it was so difficult to imagine men coming up the hill to attach and the fight that took place. Large monument at the top of the hill honoring all of the calvary who gave their lives, and then another area behind that honoring all of the tribes and warriors who gave their lives. Their were also quotes of the various tribes and their wishes for peace and taking care of the earth. There were tombstones all around the area designating where the soldiers lost their lives. It's the only battlefield in the world that has the tombstones where the soldiers fell.
After that it was an easy drive to Keystone and our resort here in Keystone, South Dakota... just 4 miles from Mt Rushmore. We plan to head there after dinner to see it while it is illuminated. Pictures of that to be added later.
