Hi!
Well, My pics don't load on this computer so i guess i'll have to wait till i get to another one again. :-(
The day before yesterday i travelled down from Airlie beach to Hervy bay through the night it took around 12 hours to get there and i was awake most of the night trying to get comfortable! Not easy! First impressions of Hervy bay not like Airlie beach like i thought it would be. It's all very spaced out. It's quite far to get to different places but its still classed as Hervy bay.
Anyway my hostel is clean, bright and airy which is nice and there are only 3 beds max in each room. The lady who owns it is really helpful and talked me through all the different tours and what the differences were. I ended up choosing just a day tour of Fraser Island as it didn't really appeal to me but everyone i met was saying you cant miss out on Fraser. I also didn't fancy sleeping in a tent -even more so when i was on the tour and the tour guide (who didn't shut up) was saying about the death adder being the only snake to look out for and the leaf spider which gives birth to two sets of eggs the first are born on the outside the second on the inside the second lot eat the mother from the inside the first from the outside... the ultimate sacrafice for the mum to give the babies a chance in life. The lesson to be learnt here is if your a spider don't have babies!!!
Anyway, back to what i was saying! Once off the ferry i got chatting to a girl called Maria and then a girl called Oh i don't remember her name it was too difficult she was a korean girl and they were both travelling on their own! We made out way through the rainforest to the beachin the 4 wheel drive bus.
Our tour guide offered us the chance to go in a sea plane over fraser island and i thought i would do this as i was saving money by not doing the two day tour and "it's the only place in the world you can land and take off in a plane" It was definitely worth it (60 dollars by the way).
Then we went for a 35 min walk through the rainforest (this was just after he said about the snakes and spiders so i was quite proud of myself for doing this although I did just look at the floor and ran past the fallen trees!)
Then off to Lake McKenzie the lake you can swim in with sand like the sand on the Whithaven and water as clear as tap water! It was lovely!
Today I've gotta stay another night as i didn't book the bus early enough so i'm just gonna sunbathe i think! And tomorrow a 5 hour journey to Brisbane!!
So, how is everyone? How was your weekends?!
Love yas
