I'm actually in Laos now...need to do some catching up!!!

Karine, Lisa and I got to Mysore which is a pretty standard Indian town..it has the poor backstreets and the nicer looking front view! trying to find a hotel was a nightmare as the one we headed to from 'the bible' was sh**hole! so we ended up spending about an hour trapsing around various dives which were all really overpriced...the hotels in Mysore are sooo expensive compared to other areas! Fed up of the whole thing we ended up back at the first place which basically had a bathroom like a men's public urinals...nice!

so we went off to check out the place and found an amazing brand new hotel, that was so new that they had no guests..in fact they were that desperate they begged us to stay there and discounted the room by more than half...excellent...off we moved to that hotel the next day, although we were 3 in a bed (a double) !!

There's not much happening in Mysore so we did the ritual sightseeing and went off to Chamundi Hill, which was one of the 6 most sacred temples in India. it was actually closed when we got there and that was that! had some bible worshipper trying to get us into her cult but we weren't having any of it! Visited the Royal palace which was pretty sexy...nice pad! Except we went on the wrong day as there was about a million school kids on a trip which made eveything 20 times slower going through!

The worse bit about Mysore was the groping! at any oppurtunity arms would flee towards us as the men (and young boys!) walked past us, sometimes even so blantant that they would just touch your bum or even pinch it! apparently a lot of other tourists have said they same thing about this place...so beware!

We fit in a trip to the Zoo, being one of Mysore's main attractions, which was the same as any other zoo really but what else is there to do???!!

Also they have a 'little ben' there which reminded us of home.

Basically Mysore in a nutshell, has a temple, a palace, lots of hardware shops and expensive hotels!
