We arrived at the airport not knowing what to expect! it was very quiet so we were out in a jiffy. We'd met an Irish guy in heathrow called Kenny in (of all places) McCanns bar!!!so we'd agreed to share his cab into delhi at the other end...however we weren't allowed for some silly reason. mainly because all the cabbies are on the scam... in fact nearly everyone we met in Delhi is a conman...which isn't surprising seeing how poor they are. Anyhow we were wise to the scam they were trying to pull, and were ferried in a cab to a couple of tourist offices (the cab driver claimed he needed directions...twice!!) this all went non for about 2 hours ...enough already!@@!eventually we agreed to stay at another hotel which was the same price..but was actually quite nice... we're fully aware we had been scammed but we really needed to check in somewhere!@! Did I mention the extreme humidity and the 'gamble with your life' cab ride??? it's like Wacky races out there and they love a horn constant beeping..grrrr! to sum up Delhi: Poor, Dirty, smelly, polluted..an experience!! not one I'd like to repeat though!
