It was an early start today. We were going on Uncle Brian's Rainforest Trip to Atherton Tablelands. Me and Kirsty were stood outside waiting for the bus which was late, when Joe came stumbling down in last nights clothes just as the bus turned up and was clearly still drunk/hungover, and just made it on in time. He has literally made us laugh on a daily basis since we met him. He sat on the seats across from us and fell asleep. They were trying to get us to play a game where you pass a matchstick in your mouth to the person sat behind you. Kirsty refused to join in because it was another 'singles' game, but i went along with it. The journey there was literally one turn after another and we went through some old towns. We stopped off at Josephine falls and people were getting in the cold water and sliding down a rock. We weren't feeling it this early in the morning, so we sat on a rock and laughed at everyone else. We headed off for some lunch in a cafe attached to a house not far away (the picture on this blog entry was taken from outside of there). George and Rob sat with us for lunch, and when we were back on the coach our tour guide was pretending they had been finalists on the x factor a previous year. One woman actually believed him and was asking them loads of questions about it haha. Our next stop was the famous Millaa Millaa waterfall. Peter Andre filmed 'Mysterious Girl' here, and it was used in a Herbal essence advert where a woman is seen flicking her hair back in the water. Our guide was trying to get everyone in to the water to re-enact it but i was ice cold. George and Rob got in and tried egging the rest of us on. Me Joe and Kirsty managed to walk in to the water up to our knees, tripping over all the rocks, and then gave up and got out. It started to lightly rain too so we wrapped ourselves in our towels and laughed at everyone else freezing in the water and dashing to get out. Our next stop was a freshwater lake in a volcanic crater. It was 80m deep, and people were getting in to swim. Kirsty and Joe went round to sepearate part of the lake which was shallower and was mostly kids. George and Rob and a couple of the girls from the coach were shouting me to jump in the lake as it was the last stop of the day and i hadn't yet got wet. I could see the size of some of the fish and was flapping about them touching me. Everyone was laughing at me and started shouting for me to just jump. It took me a minute to mentally prepare myself then i just ran along the pier and jumped in. Instantly regretting it when i felt a fish. One of the boys thought they were funny trying to jump on my shoulders to dunk me. A few of us splashed around for a bit, and i couldnt believe how big and deep the lake was. It was really peaceful though. Once we dried off we had a hot chocolate, and headed to spot a platypus which was cool. On the way back we stopped off at another hostel that had a cosy little bar, so we grabbed a can of cider and Joe played Oasis on the guitar and Kirsty was sat petting the owners dog. Everyone was singing on the bus on the way back and a few of us were getting us to dance in the aisle which was funny. Once we made it back, me, kirsty, Joe and his friend Niklas went for a curry nearby, then called it a night.
