As Fiji is so close to Australia, we took up the opportunity to visit the country. We arrived into Nadi airport, Fiji on 24 November. We booked to stay for just the 5 nights as we were a little unsure of the weather. Yahoo weather didn't give us much comfort with its prediction of rain, thunder and lightening for the entire length of our stay.
On arrival we received great service from passport control to exiting the airport. It was very efficient. We had our passports stamped, collected our luggage, luggage scanned, and then checked for any quarantine goods. All this and we were out the airport within 20 minutes. Unbelievable. Why can't all airports be like this?
We were shown to the taxi rank passing many Fijian women with very big hair! Not sure what's going on there! Anyway the yellow taxi rank stood out with many to choose from. We soon jumped in one and we were on our way to our resort on Denarau Island.
We arrived at our hotel but as the room wasn't ready we took a walk around the hotel grounds to see what was on offer. We didn't get too far when we saw a bar with views of the ocean! We sat there with a drink and some food.
