Mon 9th Oct - went for a meal at Savage Garden, a little bit different to traditional indian food and we even tried a bit of chicken!
Tues 10th Oct - got an autorickshaw to the Monsoon Palace (Sajjan Garh), an empty palace built in the late 19th century, on the Aravalli mountain range. Drove through some amazing scenery and a wildlife sanctuary. It's a shame the palace has been left to rot but the views were spectacular. On the way down we came to the rescue of a couple whose auto-rickshaw had broken down and couldn't make it up the hill! They borrowed ours to get them up there, then he came back for us. We tried out Ed's binoculars searching for panthers, cheetahs and snakes (cobras) but only saw a few butterflies!
After some apple crumble and custard we ventured to a cookery class at The Spice Box. Here we learnt the art of indian cuisine then got fed. Our plates kept getting filled as quickly as they were emptied so we were stuffed. Then we went to a cultural show at the museum where we saw puppetry and a woman dancing (with ten pots all balanced on her head!).
We saw a big elephant wandering the streets of Udaipur (so we know the difference between indian and african elephants now Bill!).
