I went to the legendary Orange County Fair today. Had to go on my own as everyone was in work, but no big deal.Ended up having my own tour guide anyway! I asked a guy at the bus stop if this was the right bus to the fair and he said it was and he was going there too.Cue lots of questions to Linda about her accent! Ah no, he was a nice guy, friendly and helpful - called Mike.Maybe too nice - he wanted to walk around the fair with me and the bus driver was so concerned that he made me tell him what time I was leaving the fair as he was on all the bus coming back and he wanted to check I was ok!!!

Mike was harmless. We had an animated discussion about bad 'ol Dubya and he told me all about California whilst we went round the fair.Loads of rides and stalls and so much food. Kind of a mini version of Blackpool Pleasure Beach.So I don't quite understand the fuss the Yanks make of it, but it was still a good day out and Mike was good company.Never saw that bus driver again.I bet he checked the news that night…! Bless him.
