So glad to hear you are both safe and well -like most parents we still worry when we havent heard from you for a few days ,more so since last time we heard about a military coup in the Phillippines !!!!
What a shame you cant get the photos down -loaded ,still maybe when you get to somewhere more touristy you might have more luck and we can enjoy seeing them. Your adventure down the river sounded a bit scary in a thunder storm -you were very brave to go it alone in a remote area .Were the "pirates " children or someone more sinister ????? Where are you staying -are you in lodges or motels and are they nice ?? You must be well and truly brown by now. How long are you there before you move on.?
Must tell you that I enjoyed the Leeds match and I will be fighting you for the tickets when you next go -I think I am a convert now ! I am proud to tell you that I did the 5 kilometre race for cancer this week . I intended to walk the distance but along with 2 colleagues I ended up running about well over 3 of the killometres. I was so pleased to get over the finishing line in one piece and when I got my medal I was thrilled ! There were about 3 thousand ladies who entered and the atmosphere was wonderful -I slept like a baby that night !.
Garden STILL on a go slow-Hopefully this time next year we might be able to sit out in it !!!! Nothing much to report from this end -we just potter along as usual.
Sports report - England 318 - 3 after day 1 v Sri Lanka. Middlesborough lost the UEFA Cup Final 4-0. Does not bode well for new England manager Steve MccLaren.

Hey Phil and Lin...haven't really written to you guys much but was soo amazed by your updated photos from Philippines. I think I would just skip the issue of your "nice bikini" and "definately the next bond girl" as you might be a bit bored to listen...but its true though haha..its good that you guys seemed to enjoy the traveling experience with a CN-235..they are originally operated as utility transport aircraft in the army..only a few of them which..ahem...being very old and not safe to be on duty would transform to commerical use. See, that might explain the smoke? hahah..Phil, where are your local buddies? I am sure you should have some as well and why don't you show us? I am in stockholm right now, enjoying the sunshine (and dissertation ...)

Hello everybody, We havn't been able to upload any pictures recently (even though wer have hundreds!) due to either no internet availability or crap connections! we should be able to get some up once in Aus or back in another part of the Philipines! In a very remote place at the moment we had to take a boat from a small village yesterday - it took 7 hours in a tiny boat and we went through a horrible storm with clouds so thick you couldnt see any land - got slightly scared! Anyway we made it and were in El Nido now in northern Palawan (western Island). Until next time.....

Those photos we have just seen of Boracay Island must surely be the best pictures of paradise yet !!! We dont think we have ever seen water as clear anywhere .We definately think Linda should be the next "bond " girl ,you look absolutely fantastic in your bikini and especialy the pose in front of the huge sand-castle.You have most definately lost some weight Linda and I am quite jealous !!!No wonder your having such a great time with a pint glass continually in your hand Philip -still who wouldnt at those prices.You certainly seem to have made good friends with the locals.What is your accomodation like ?Are the prices similar to the beer ? Looking at your agenda you are obviously getting about and seeing plenty of the Phillippines.have you found laundry facilities so you dont begin to smell like sumo wrestlers again !!! On the home front the garden continues at a snails pace -nearly 4 weeks have passed and still not finished ! They have finished the decking (at last ) and have started the drive but still have all the trellis to put up ,Gazebo to build, Arbour to build , front path to do and all the planting !!!As you see they are very slow .All being well the electrician gets all the lighting finished tomorrow (we will not hold out too much hope ).Andrew still hasnt introduced us to Evette.
He is a good lodger though using the facilites on offer like a 5 star hotel ! Seriously ,it is nice having him around. He is insisting on taking us out for a meal tomorrow evening which is very kind of him. Dad is getting excited about taking me to see Leeds united play on Friday-cant wait !!!! (hmmmm) Do you think you might send grandma a post card as im sure she would be thrilled .Her address is 97 ,Beckwith Road harrogate HG2 OBS North Yorkshire ,England .
Sports update - Leeds finished 5th so have the home leg of the semi-final play-off v Preston on Friday night and away leg on Monday. Need to score some goals!! Harrogate Town finished 5th as well. They had their one leg play off away to Stafford Rangers, losing 1-0, so that's it for another season. Test match v Sri Lanka starts next week.

Hi everyone! Jess, it's ok you can laugh as much as you like about my fall. The truth is, I thought it was very funny myself. Although,I didn't think so at the exact moment as I cut my leg but when I got to the hotel I was crying with laughter. Also, when I fell in the hole my backback got wet and so did my stuff in it. I left it to dry in the hotel room but the room started to stink because of it. I bet the cleaner must have thought we were two dirrrrrrrrrrrty backpackers. Love to you all. Your messages send us into fits of laughter, the bit about Linda falling into a big hole was so funny. We can just imagine Phil doubled up with laughter at the sight (Sorry Linda we shouldn't laugh and we are sorry you hurt yourself ) The zoo photos are great -you are obviously the new David Attenborough !!Please ,PLease bring me a baby chimp home he is adorable.Sorry to hear about the crappy accomodation and even worse the travelling experience.You must have spent a chunk of your budget on this .Please let us know how you are financially .We will send you some pennies if you feel you are running over your daily expenditure.Do let us know !!!! We managed to get Andrew safely moved home and scrubbed his flat until it glistened !In fact it was a damn site cleaner than ours is at the moment as we have so much dirt and dust from the garden in the house !!We now have a dining room which resembles the over -filled garage ,there are boxes ,beds ,dining furniture ,a freezer and everything else from his flat in there !!! (Im considering moving into the shed ). Decking is now down and paths are being laid-it seems to be taking forever,still it will be worth the wait (we hope !) I celebrate my birthday tomorrow so being at school will make it more special with the children. Where do you go to next ? Are you still on a high or is the novelty of having a never ending holiday wearing off ? (We hope not ). You seem to have been gone such a long time and we do miss you .Andrew wants to know if you have enough room left on your camera to store more pictures ??
