Travel with Jen and Kate!
7th August:
We took an early bus (7am) to the border of Bolivia at Yunguyo where we had a very confusing border crossing (had to go to many placs to get passports stamped, money changed, and then work out where our bus had got to), had a lunch break at copacabana (full of stret markets) and then spent ages trying to work out our next bus (Bolivians make it all very confusing!!). the strangest part of our journey had to be the lake crossing (which we didnt know was happening) - the buses went across the lake on rafts and us on speedboats, very funny to watch as one coach was drifting off in the wrong direction! we made it to La Paz all in one piece and wandered about the streets in the evening (although we were told many times by other travellers that we had to be back in our hostel by 8 as the streets are not safe - what a way to fill us with confidence about this city!!).
8th August:
went for a walking tour of the city (courtesy of the Lonely Planet) where we went through the witches market, and loads of other street markets and then upto the old square and visited a few musuems. we're about to change to a hostel in the witches market which we hope has a little more than the chicken & chip shops that we have around us currently! went to see The Cats at night, which luckily turned out to be Cats but down by a local jazz dance school, was really good expect that all the songs were in spannish so we were a little lost on what was going on!
