This blog is only coming from Jo as i was the only one to visit Melbourne....boo hoo!!! An overnight coach journey landed me in the streets of Melbourne but luckily my hostel was down the road so not far to walk with all my stuff. So i got there at 8 in the morn to find out that i couldn't check in until 1pm aahhh!!so i practically saw half of melbourne that morning, wandering around the streets until 1!The first day didn't really consist of much, i just chilled out at my hostel watching american idol on my own!!!
My second day was brilliant, was taken out by 2 lovely gentlemen for lunch, one of those we had met in malaysia. We went for Japenese food and they paid for it all-bless them!!Then 2 random French men started talking to me in the afternoon and took me out for a beer which lead to meeting some very nice people for a night of partying in a hostel room!
The day after was spent being very cultural, I went to the Melbourne Museum and art gallery, and a little exhibition about circus art. In the evening I had a few drinks with some people from the previous night and went to bed.
I moved to St Kilda, the local beach for 4 nights as i was told the weather forcast would be sunny...no it was not!!I had one morning in the sun there, otherwise it was freezing!!!!So these few days were spent going to an exhibiton i wanted to see about film set design, going to the cinema and meeting up with our lovely friends Jemma and Laura who we met in oz!During this time, I also did a Neighbours tour, which was really not worth the money but well worth visiting the set in real life!We met a cast member-Janelle, who used to be in the show.
My last day i moved back to the city centre as it was closer to the airport and thats where all my friends were staying.A whole crowd of us went to the bar and had an excellent night...which paid its price the next day as i felt rough!!
I flew to Canberra in the afternoon and spent 2 nights there. There is not much to do there but it was nice to chill out after some mad nights in Melbourne. The hostel was lovely so i spent some time watching tv, went for a walk to find an art gallery which resulted in me getting lost for 2 1/2 hours, and still not finding the gallery!so i ended up in an exhibition about film and sound which was interesting! Soon it was time to go back to my chums in Sydney and time to say goodbye to my solo adventure!!Missing my bus back to Sydney, I think it was time to be looked after again!!!!!
