Trusting our own transport again we arranged for an air con minivan to take us across the boarder to Malaysia. The crossing was going fine until we reached the Malaysia side when all of the girls were picked on and asked to produce their passports once again to a scary man.
We arrived in Georgetown on the island of Penang, after the long journey we stumbled into the nearest hostel to book a night. Much to everyones disgust apart from Panda and Jo who thought that the hostel was fine. Our evening was highly exciting consisting of dinner and a trapse around the area to try and find another hostel for the next few nights as the first was not up to everyones expectations.
The next day we ventured to Fort Cornwallis and the art gallery. Fort Cornwallis provided us with much entertainment as Katherine, Jordan and Tom held a massive yellow snake. We all enjoyed being locked in prision for a matter of minutes. After Fort Cornwallis we walked for ages through China Town and Little India (which is like China Town and Little India EVERYWHERE) to hunt down food as Tom was about to eat his own leg! After a yummy lunch we decided to look around the shops to hunt out some bargains. After Panda broke one of the lighters in the gadget shop we found Jordan looking at the bag stool (where else would she be). Panda noticed a man dressed in a blue boiler suit and murder's shoes looking at Jordans bag. She told everyone to be careful. He was definitely following us as we changed direction and floors and he was still following us. While we was being followed Jordan was still trying to shop looking at shoes!!! We got to the bottom floor and ran out of the nearest exit, which was for some reason very hard to find!!!!! We got in a taxi and drove off!! Phew!
The following day Jo and Panda was prepared to hike up the massive Penang Hill while the others were going to enjoy the luxury of the finicular train. However, when we got there the train was not working and we was told that we could not trek the hill as it was too dangerous! We then headed for the Botanical Gardens which was beautiful! We hiked a very short way into the jungle area and checked out the massive killer ants!
The next morning we got a bus to Batu Ferrengi, a 'gorgeous' beach in the north of Penang. We arrived and headed straight for the beach, the beach was nothing compared to some of the beaches that we have already seen. The water was highly polluted and black from the oil from the jet skis. While we was at the beach we went on the jet skis, Tom and Jordan twice. Panda was convinced and went on with Jo after she was told you never fall off! The waves were pretty fierce from the storm the night before but it was great fun! However, Panda and Jo DID fall off of their jet ski!!!!! Tom fell in love with a ginger horse and took him for a ride along the beach. Tin describes his experience as breath taking!!
We prepared for our overnight train to Kuala Lumpa.....
