So we are back home in the UK. All feels like a dream.
The good news is that the llama survived the journey. Aidan was allowed to carry it on as hand luggage, he was so chuffed. He never took his eyes off it. Although we got lots of funny looks and comments. And it looked hilarious on the X-ray machine.
We were greeted at the airport by our parents, a balloon and my new little dog. As we flew via Madrid we landed in European Arrivals. Everyone on the flight had been on a short break to Madrid and couldn't understand what the fuss was about and why we had a llama.
At Cardiff we were greeted by more McGiverns and the Jenkins. As soon as Aidan got in the house he had a shower, his first decent one in months. (Those of you who know Aidan well know he's a bit of a shower addict). Aidan's mum cooked us our favourite meal. We also had Monica's legendary chocolate cake (which I've been looking forward to for ages) and some champagne. Everyone was pleased to see us back safe and sound. They were also dying for Aidan to unwrap his llama.
The next morning we were both hyper and got up at 6am. Aidan spent the whole day making a slideshow of photos for his family. What a treat, 800 hand selected photos with commentary, our families couldn't wait.
Katie.
