Hi folks, well first week done, have done so much...although feel like we are traveling a lot during the day and only having one night in each place. We're in Luang Prabang and are here for 3 days so good to stop for a while and really nice place. It took us 2 days to sail down the Mekong River on a slow boat, was good fun and very interesting. We stopped off at a small village Kmu along the river side, mixed feeling on seeing how village people live, a bit intrusive to stop there. I've got loads of cracking photos but so much hassle uploadng them now camera has a virus grrr. Liddell is uploading her's the now.

Getting a taste for Lao Beer, could overtake the cider.....really not been drinking much, quite chilled...liddell even got up at 5.30am this morn (after an early nite) to go see some Monks walk down the street, i'm getting worried that she'll end up shaving her head and wearing bedsheets, she got blessed by a monk the other day and was well chuffed (we mustn't be on that KB list)!! I think i have seen more temples this week than been to chapel in my puff, although nice to see, seen one seen them all.

The people here are very nice and it feels safe....answer to the talent question...picking up chicks :) Liddell has started to talk posh to everyone so they can understand her...she keeps saying 'Scotland' with a dutch accent., a bit like Goldmember, and she wonders why i can't stop laughing.

Went to see Palace here this morn...another temple, and going for a trek this avo to the waterfalls. We're having to cover up a lot, cover knees, ankles, shoulders (in liddells case boobs lol) its a bit like being a young teenager and getting sent back to our room if dress is not suitable lol..so tan is not happenin. Even got a row the other nite for some of us were up having a few drinks and apparently being too noisy, but it was only 11pm we canny go anywhere lol. Although enjoying the tour, looking forward to when we finish group tour next week and start doing our own thing.

Everything is really cheap here, probably will be the cheapest place in our trip.Was at the night market and have already seen loads iwant to take home, loads of photos of things to paint.. All-in-all having an amazing time:)

so glad we are staying here for a few days its such a cool place and the people are so friendly, lots of stall restaurants and good beer so all in all couldnt ask for more - am off to swim in the waterfall the now after visiting another temple and palace - think thats enuf for one week!! tomor am gone elephant trekking then kayaking and tubing cant wait

got up t 530 - lazy miss H rolled over and went back to sleep was well worth gettin up for all the locals lin side of pavement and give the monks rice and - so hard to believe how much they are into religion over here!! dont worry am no converting to buddishm - it dont involve drinking and sleepin all day forget it!!!

yea me and sho kept getting asked we got something to cover shoulers knees and toes - nby our new mummy nuddy( our tour leader!) how ironic wae a name like that!! that paschmina has come in handy mum cover, cover up and pillow!!

never had so little beer and early nites but its all good prob a good thing not wanna be on pub watch too early on in the trip haha!
