Canberra.. the nation's capital...about the size of Stevenage!!!!! Drove into there and looked around the shops (all 5 of them) then went to the Parliament House. It was worth going to Canberra just for this! We went in and Question time was on and we were allowed to go in! Saw the PM John Howard and heard him talk. Was all rather exciting! Saw proper debates for 15/20 mins then loads of them that weren't asleep left and they started bickering like school children. One got sent out and about 10 were warned from the opposition. They were arguing over the noise during people talking and the volume of the microphones! Pathetic! Anyway that was good and then we went on a tour. They say their equivalent of our house of Lords and Commons is their own and based on the red and green of the Gum Tree but they look suspiciously like ours! They even have a chair reserved for the Queen and Philip but they've never bothered to go sit in them. Too busy torturing foxes I expect.
Then we drove to Goulburn where we are now. Stayed in a campsite in the pouring rain, and bought 2 fleece blankets and had 7 layers on last night, actually didn't freeze! Looking forward to going further north where hopefully there will be a bit of sun. At least it's too cold for mosquitos though!
Anyway that brings us to now and I am busting for the toilet! Will try not to leave it so long between next updates but it's harder in Bisty!Â
