we had booked a great apartment deal right in the centre of Venice, and therefore had no choice but to pack up and head north.
We were not sure how to get into Venice, so we just drove out over the bridge and found a huge secure car park( 21 euro per day), and from there jumped on a water taxi, and got dropped off somewhere close to our room.
When your walking in Venice you are going down streets about 2- 3 meters wide so you are not aloud to drive there it also heaps of canals runing through the city. As well as sinking into the sea it has lots of things to do and is a really cool place and even with a map it is easy to get lost.
That night Mum and Dad wandered down to Piazza San Marco, and Vanessa and I went to bed.
The next day Venice proved to be the most Touristy place we have visited, during the day there are hordes of ice cream slurping tourists weaving their way through the tiny streets, although the Gondolas didn't seem to be doing a roaring trade.
Venice is a place to wander the streets, poke your nose into all the little shops selling everything from masks and costumes to ceramics and glassware.
We walked into the square again and there was lots of things happening there were two bands playing and it was very lively. At night at high tide water comes into the square and blocks the entrants to some buildings it was a fun two days.
