A much overdue update from Buenos Aires. The jewel in the crown of Argentina, and considered by many as the best and brightest city on the South American continent. Buenos Aires translates as "Fair Winds" or "Good Air" which is ironic as good quality air is probably about the only thing you could fault Buenos Aires for. Em and I have been renting an old french styled apartment in Recoleta, the rich and leafy suburb near the city of Buenos Aire...

Quick one from Buenos Aires. Em and I are a week into our eight months off and we had to have a giggle today when we confessed to each other that we were both pissing each other off. She called me grumpy, I ubruptly retorted that she is a nagging wife - "like a tap. Drip, drip, dripping..." Emily and I are now in Argentina, so I will have to relive the past week for my own benefit as it has been hectic. Santiago, as I mentioned, albeit breifly, in an earlier journal entry was great with its high standards of living and bustling streets. The street art and performers that on in each plaza and on every corner adds colour to a day spent just meandering around the tree lined avenues of Santiago. Left Santiago today for Valiparaso which was only a two hour journey by comfortable bus, and thus I missed the scencery as I slept the whole way. South America was an unknown for us, as neither Em or I had heard anything of the continent really. Other than what I had read as an infant in National Geographic. As it has turned out South America, on first impressions, is much more like Europe than Asia. Chile has splendid infrastructure, relatively clean streets ...
