Adventures As Lewis
Malawi is one of the most unique places we have ever been to in so many ways. There is a simplicity here that you might not find in a lot of places. There's an ease of living that is often overshadowed by malaria scares and thieves in the night. Everything is relatively close by, and yet distance means something else when you don't have a car and when the roads aren't in great shape.
There will always be something familiar about driving through the streets of Lilongwe, even though I still get turned around from time to time when I try to take a different route places. This week is nearly over, so far filled with getting back into the swing of things, readjusting to time differences and sleeping under nets. Today I finally have enough energy to get a few things done and there is plenty to do.
The Feast of Pentecost is a few days away. This day signifies the beginning of God's Church when salvation was first opened to a broad audience outside of the families of Israel. This is the day that God's Holy Spirit was given to the members of this spiritual body rather than just a select few through the years. God's Church is growing, even though it is small in number. I am thankful to be part of this work and there is plenty of work to do.
Lena and I arrived on Tuesday afternoon, spent Wednesday recovering, and today we picked up Brennan and Michala from the airport. All four of us are back in town, refreshed from seeing our families, and energized for the work ahead of us.
