From Coffs Harbour, it was a quick trip to Woolgoolga or Whoopi, as it's called by its citizens. There we stayed with yet another set of friends of the Kiryluks - the Robinsons. Fiona and Chris were kind enough to offer us a roof for a few days.
We arrived to a houseful as Joan (Grandma), their eldest son and his girlfriend, and their three other children (all grown - 16, 18, 20) were also there. Despite the age difference, our kids were thrilled to be with the "young" people and they had a great time visiting and playing Uno with them.
Before supper, we went to the beach for a swim and a game of beach cricket. After, Fiona and Chris prepared a lovely meal of chicken, sausages, baked potatoes and an amazing vegetable dish (roast peppers, carrots, zucchini, and pumpkin with salsa and feta cheese). Dessert was trifle and ice cream and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal.
After supper, a raucous game of spoons followed by Scattergories left our kids very, very happy to be in Whoopi and they went to bed feeling like they had a little piece of Christmas back home, with all the family and noise. It was great fun.
