The day started at Kelly Hill Caves - an underground tour of the limestone formations with 4 chambers to visit. The 1 hour tour was pretty informative - the usual stalagmites, stalactites, curtains and helictites (our favourite) abounded. Very interesting was the May Hike scenic route to the Show Cave Entrance, via the 'Original' Cave Entrance where visitors had to scale a 5 metre ladder! We departed around 10am and stopped at the Parndana IGA for some supplies and morning tea before heading towards Western Kangaroo Island. We checked into the Western KI Caravan Park where we'll stay for the next 3 nights. It's a lovely place - even though it's full, it's nice and spacious. We left Goolwa and drove to Cape Jervis, about 100kms South East of Goolwa. We were one of the first cars in the queue for the Kangaroo Island Sealink Car Ferry Sealion 2000. We woke to another sunny day, got the bikes off the car, prepared our camel backs with water and headed to the information centre and onto Goolwa Wharf. We packed up pretty quick and headed down the highway about 10am. We stopped at a lovely place for morning tea called Havenhand Chocolate at Waikerie - there were lots of people having picnics and skiing.
