Vietnam win the award for the most luxurious buses so far as we spent the 5 hour journey to Mui Ne laid down on a bus full of beds, watching a film. The crazy driving is still very much a problem though.
The accommodation we had booked looked top class online but in most cases it is just a picture that doesn't represent the standard of the hostel at all. Similar to the pictures of food in a kebab shop, they tempt you in to a purchase but it never looks or tastes as good (sober). We arrived at the exception to the rule. Mui Ne Hill budget resort - $10 a night, brand new resort with pool and vibes. The room is a huge, modern chill out zone with wifi and a sweet wet room. Ultimate chill out pad. Despite all the resort had to offer, we headed out to the beach to reduce the risk of us not leaving the poolside. As the others in the resort told us, the beach wasn't great - brown water and slightly littered. Within ten minutes we were back in the pool drinking beer with some guys we met. Matt took part in the 4pm volley ball match and showed his beginner skills off before the blackest cloud turned the nice sunny atmosphere in to that of Mordor. The storm chasers in us came out. We stood watching the huge electrical storm taking place. The lightning was zigzagging the sky and even struck the pylon outside our room at one point.
Oh and one awesome fact about the hotel, half price food and cheap drinks in down season. And guess what.......ITS DOWN SEASON. Definitely eating from the expensive menu during the stay.
