Nervous Turkey!
Happy Birthday Mike!!
One of the wonderful things about travelling for us is the people we meet. So far we have travelled with families, people our own age and people we didn't necessarily like. But today we met two of the most inspiring people so far.
Nick & Erica's backstory....
Four years ago, after retiring, they bought a sailing boat, set off from the East Coast of Australia and have been sailing ever since. They even made it to India. They have such a refreshing outlook on life and they are loving every minute of their adventure...even if they do get themselves into trouble every now and then.
Day 2 of the boat to Thailand....
The boat was freezing today as the weather in Northern Laos was pretty English. With all our layers on, our heads covered with blankets, we neglected the fact that we have sleeping bags. IDIOTS.
We were going to try for border but we didn't know if would make it as we arrived at 6pm. Like a lot of things in Thailand, it can be hard to get an exact answer and after a lot of research we couldn't figure out what time the border shut. Having already booked accommodation, we decided to stay the night in Huay Xai and attack the border in the morning.
