The two day boat journey from Luang Prabang across the border to Thailand started humourously as an hour and 5 minutes into our journey we drove past the hostel we had left earlier. Eventually we made it onto the long boat where we would spend 16 hours cruising down the Mekong over the next 2 days. The first thing we realised was that we didn't have enough clothes for the chilly conditions. We spent the whole day getting to know our neighbours that we would share close proximity with for the next few days. After the 8 hour journey, sat in car seats that had been screwed to the boat, we went for an Indian with our new friends Amelia, Danielle and Elisia. The town that we would spend the night in wasn't all that, so on arrival at a shack of a guesthouse Matt stripped the bed checking for bedbugs while the owner stood and watched. The girls were impressed with his in depth survey. It passed inspection.
