The weathers so much more agreeable here, it’s not nearly as hot and humid and I think I can cope! Belo Horizonte is a big big city in Minas Gerais with lots of high rise buildings and flats surrounded by mountains of the old brasilian gold rush. Staying with Tiago's family, it's so cool to have a washing machine and food on the table! Belo is so beautiful at sunset (ill never be awake to see it at dawn who am I kidding!!) it was engineered so you need a car because public transports a pain and if your really fat you wont fit through the turnstiles they have on the bus. Visited Peanut street where your car goes up instead of down the slope as it is an optical illusion! So weird…
Went to lots of cool places, the German bar where I discovered the combination of guarana and vodka!! The many many malls and markets, the big tower where the hard rock cafe is (that you can bungee jump off!), bar Soho which is the best bar I've ever been to in my life they have games like Kerplunk, Popup Pirate, Jenga, Guess Who? and Who Am I? games and a whole book of others you can play and it’s so fun whilst getting drunk plus they ring a bell 3 times a night and then everyone gets free beer until the first person goes to the loo! It's so funny and the time kept getting shorter and shorter each time they rang the bell!
Tiago's grandparents have a country house up in the mountains which is like the perfect house (even has papayas and mangoes and stuff growing in the garden!) so we went there and spent the day there lying around in hammocks, there’s also beautiful waterfall about 10 mins walk away which we went and swam in (see the pics) and I nearly broke my wrist clambering about on the rocks like a mountain goat and fell on my ass and hand. There’s also a lagoon which we went to you can kayak on I don’t think there’s any crocs or alligators??!?
Went to the caves in Lagoa Santos as well (also see pics) where there were massive spiders that bite and are poisonous and snakes and vampire bats! No cockroaches though so I’m happy! Went to a funfair briefly and had a go on the bumper cars, I've forgotten how much fun they are!
Can’t be bothered to update any more! Have been going to bars and meeting Tiagos friends and family which is cool I’ve loved it so much in Belo!!!
I'm going to turn into a Guarana berry, Sam in to a Pao de Quejo (cheesy bread), Tiago in to Acai, Gary into a can of Skol (weirdly it seems to be the most popular beer here!) and Colin into a bloody Mcdonalds.
