Ok it had to be done , although people had said Bondi Beach was a bit of a dump we boarded the bus for Bondi. We were suitably impressed, the sand was beautiful, the surf was brilliant and the sun was shining. Graham thought we just had to walk the length of the beach, there may have been other lovely things to look at on the beach, but we won't mention that, so we enjoyed all the sights and Graham dived into the waves without a surfboard!
We then ventured along the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk. It happen to be the opening day of "Sculpture by the Sea" it's the largest outdoor exhibition of sculpture in the World, and it was free. There are about a hundred sculptures set on this stunning coastal path. Some were a bit weird and wonderful, bits of rubbish thrown together to make "art". Graham thought the rock formation was more spectacular than the sculptures so I think this might be our only bit of culture on the trip.
It was Thursday, so running night. We decided to go out a bit earlier than usual to catch the evening sunset . We took a similar path as our previous days walk through the parks and down to the bridge. Forget paying £130 for the bridge climb, running across the bridge is the thing to do. There seem to to plenty of runners on this route and we reached the north bank as the sun was going down to see the Opera House and the harbour at its best.
We shall be off to Brisbane tomorrow, we have enjoyed Sydney and luckily we hadn't planned to go to the Blue Mountains as the bush fires still dominate the news. The only disappointing thing is that free internet access is not like HK so no geocaching.
