A very early start this morning as our flight for Fiji left at 6.50am. It was sad to leave New Zealand but 3 nights in Fiji was something to look forward to. We really weren't sure what we had booked in Fiji as it seemed like a good deal at the time. I knew it was near Nadi and everyone says Nadi is a bit of a dump where you get hassled. However our resort is a few miles out of Nadi and is very nice. We probably won't even get to Nadi. There is a good size pool, warm sea water, canoes and plenty of sun loungers. I know we don't usually do the sun lounger thing but we might have to. There are activities laid on and soon after we arrived there was a canoe to the reef and snorkel trip. It makes so much difference to snorkel in warm water and there were lots of fish to see.
We have a bungalow room in the grounds and some very noisy birds as neighbours. We had free drinks when we arrived, free cocktails and free nibbles because it's Wednesday and then Happy hour. This place is a little bit surreal and yes I know I am going to come back to the real world next week but lying in a hammock watching the sunset through palm trees, I can't imagine that it's Christmas soon!
