VIVA LAS VEGAS !!!!!!!!
hey guys well the first news I have for you all is I'm not a millionaire which is sad I know !! But we had a fantastic ten days in Las Vegas and a great time with our friends Karl and dan.
Once we arrived into vegas we took a cab to the airport where we were going to suprise them both on arrivals. They had a limo picking them up and said for us to meet them there but we told them we wouldn't be able to get there in time. We lied and suprised them which was so so funny. We also got to arrive in style at the Venetian where we would be staying with them both for a whole week. The venetain is a Italian based theme hotel and it was out of this world. You can't quite believe the size of the hotels on the strip they are so so big and they have everything you can think of in them. From bars , resturants , shops , casinos , spas , hot tubs, pools, nightclubs , theatres and so much more. We stayed In this place for a whole week and still at the end of the week we were discovering new places in it. All of the rooms in the Venetian are suites so their rooms were gigantic. We had a great view overlooking the strip and we were right opposite the Mirage.
It was all too much to take in on the First day of arriving so we got ready and headed down to the casino to see what was going on. We played plenty of slot machines , roulette , 3 card poker , and blackjack where we spent most of our time. After a few hours of gambling we headed up the strip to where the likes of the Bellagio and Caesars palace were. The night turned into a bit of a mess and we had way too long in the Bellagio sinking way too many free drinks while on the tables. We were all abit too drunk so we retired to our hotel. You never know what the time is in vegas as it looks the same every minute of the day .......MAYHEM. we got told it was 5 in the morning and we were all pretty tired. The next day was a write off for me and Karl who were bed bound pretty much most of it. I managed to crawl down to the pool for the last couple of hours of sun. The girls made the most of it by the pool allday. It's funny because you really want to hope you don't forget anything because if you do you have a half hour round trip back to your room and that's if you don't get lost, which happened plenty of times.
One of the days in the week we decided on going to a pool party which was being held in the MGM grand. It was called Wet republic it was free entry so it was pretty busy and it went on allday . We hired some massive sofa thing for us four to relax on and chilled by the pool listening to some great music which I've missed lots. That night we checked out the Bellagio fountains which were unbelievable as they played to music. It was pretty cool and I got some good pictures for you all to see. Most of our nights ended with with us four playing on the casino floors either winning or loosing haha.
Our our last night with dan and Karl we all decided we would go to a show as we had been told how great they were. We went to a show called le Reve. It was being held in the lovely and one of my favourite hotels the Wynn. We spent a lot of time in this hotel as it was next door to us and it was so so nice inside. We had a buffet also in the Wynn which was more food than I've ever seen in my life. It had everything you can think of and we all stuffed ourselves rotten. Anyway the show le Reve was a acrobatic/water/ dance show. It was really good and a great way to finish our time with dan and Karl.
It was sad to be leaving the Venetian but we couldn't stay there forever even though I could quite easily. Once we had said our goodbyes to dan and Karl we got a cab to the Stratosphere hotel where we were going to be staying for three more nights. The next day we went and booked our Grand Canyon trip which had one of the best reviews on trip advisor. It was going to be a long day but we knew it would be so worth it once we arrived there to see the magnificent canyon. We also went and saw all the hotels inside and out and spent a long time in m and m world.
We got an early night for a change as we had to be up at 5am to start our tour to the canyon. Once we got picked up by our great tour guide Arron it was off to the Las Vegas sign to get that photo that everyone gets. It was a good tour as it only takes 8 people on it so there's not much waiting around and you can all get to know eachother quite well too. Once everyone had there snaps taken at the sign it was onto our gourmet breakfast ......mcdonalds. After filling ourselves with breakie we had a 1 hours drive the the Hoover dam. The Hoover dam was really cool to see and to imagine how they built it must of been crazy. It has 4 and a half million cubic yards of concrete in the dam. During the build of the dam 100 people died and Everytime someone died they dragged their bodies over the border to Arizona as the state paid out more to there family's than the Nevada did. It took just over 4 years for it to be built with 15,000 builders working on it 24/7 . It was also the first place where the hard hat was first deigned. One of the workers come up with the idea with using a rock to mould a shape to use over their heads. After spending sometime here it was back on the road towards the Grand Canyon. Our first stop was at eagle point and your see in the pictures. This is where there is a eagle shaped on the canyon its in the background of where me and Lauren are standing. We got some great snaps of us both hanging our legs over the edge. I was really nervous as I don't trust stuff like rocks but Lauren's loved it. At least one person a month dies at the canyon not really something I wanted to be hearing while I was about to plonk my arse on a tiny piece of rock. Our tour guide Arron was really interesting and showed us some great spots to get the best picture of the canyon.
After we looked at eagle point it was time to go onto the glass skywalk. The skywalk was made in 2010 and it's a great piece of engineering. It's a u-shaped platform that allows you to walk 23 metres out of the clifftop to get a great look right out of the canyon. Unfortunately your not allowed to take your camera onto the skywalk but I did take one of it so you can kind of see what I'm talking about. You can always google it if you want to know more. The skywalk is so so strong you can land a jumbo jet on it that's roughly (17,000 tonnes) on it and it won't move, quite impressive hey. The flooring is made out of the strongest glass you can get. It's been imported all the way from Germany and is 2 and a half inches thick under your feet. The glass is also bulletproof and bombproof so you jump on it as hard as you like, it won't break. The skywalk is located on the highest part of the canyon and has a drop of 5,000 feet. They say it would take about 12 seconds before you hit the ground and die really interesting to know that hey. After enjoying the lovely views from the skywalk it was time for lunch. Our tour guide had set up our lunch on a picnic table we had the largest sandwiches you could imagine. I had turkey and Lauren had beef. We had pallets of grapes crackers and cheese slices it was lovely. After everyone was full to the brim we moved onto our next location and our last stop of the canyon which was guano point. In 1930 a boats man who was passing through found a cave which had bat droppings in it. These were high in nitrogen and really useful as fertiliser. Basically the us corporation set up a tramway from the point to the cave which was 7,500 feet away and used cable cars to transport the poo back and forth. In 1960 the lines were damaged by a plane and they never chose to set it back up but the remains still sit there today.
We then hiked up to a point and when we got up to it the wind was so so windy you felt it was going to blow you straight back down. It gives you a 360 degree view of the whole of the canyon. It was one of the best things I've seen, incredible. After aload more photos it was time to start heading back to the van where our tour was over and a 3 hour drive back to vegas. We all got given lots of cookies for us all to eat on the way back and plenty of drink. Everyone was pretty dam tired so I think most of us napped. It was a fantastic way to end our time in vegas and I will be returning again some time that's for certain.
We now travel to the lovely city of San Fransico to see what that has in store for us speak to you all soon xxx
