We have crossed the border into Queensland, which means we are now an hour behind that which we previously were, which means we are now 10 hours behind the rest of you...no, scrap that...we're 10 hours ahead of you.

I have recently emerged from a small town known as Nimbin, the place got take over by hippies in the 70's and has turned into a crazy place to visit. it was impossible to walk two paces down the street without being offered weed!

I jump ahead of myself, we spent two nights in Byron Bay - the beach was awesome, i took a walk along it and got to the other side three hours later! there was no way that i was walking back so I hitch hicked into Byron (thanks again Ian!).

other than the warm sea water, long hours of sunshine and laid back feel to the place I have to say that i didnt enjoy it much. Our hostel was large and unfriendly, add that to the adolesent vibe and didnt make for a nice place to be - yes I know I sound like an old man!

so now we have moved on up onto the Gold Coast, the local surf forecaster has predicted the best swells of the year for the next week, I'm excited!

tomorrow I have to drive back to Byron to pick my debit card up, I hope... and then we will leave here and continue the magical journey up, up and away!
