We woke to our coco pops purchased the night before :) what a delightful treat! We had booked the bus to head for Hoi An today at 6pm so we had not a lot to do except chill out on the beach in the sailing club.
We were a bit worried about our bags because we'd left them in the hotel we'd been staying at. They didn't have a luggage room so they were just sitting in the foyer area. They offered us our room to leave them in but they wanted us to pay for another night the cheeky mares! There was something strange about the people who worked there. The girl was really helpful but it was swarmed every day with 'easy riders' people trying to take you on 10 hour journeys on a motorbike showing you the 'Real Vietnam'. Lee had come down in the morning with a shirt he didn't want anymore in his hands and 1 of the lads took it out of his hands asking why he was carrying it and not wearing. Before Lee could answer he asked Lee if he could have it. Lee snatched it back and said No ha. (He felt guilty a little later on and ended up giving it to him - the lad didn't even say thank you)
Anyway back to our day of chilling... Back in phnom penh the hotel where we'd stayed gave us squid one night when we were drinking with them and it was gorgeous. The best squid we'd ever tasted. We saw it was on the menu in the sailing club. It said squid heads an toast... Aswell as olives, sun dried tomatoes so we ordered thinking it would be the same thing. It wasn't! I couldn't eat them. Lee did of course! It was baby squids!.... Head, leg and all.
The day flew, our things were still at the hotel and the bus was on time to drop us at the pick up stop. We even managed to play a game of where's wolly. Seriously the girl had his t'shirt and glasses on! Also whilst we were waiting a man was at the stop trying to sell books. I made friends with him. A lot of people can speak English but can't read it so I thought i'd put the man to the test. He picked up a comedy book and started reading it and to prove he knew what he was reading he mimed the words... He turned his head (he turned his head) she smiled (his hand gripped either side of his mouth and emphasized a smile) he was funny lee thought he looked like mr majika) As the bus pulled up we noticed it was a normal bus not a sleeper. Apparently there'd been a crash with our bus on its way to get us so they had to use this alternative bus. Marvelous 12 hours, on a seated bus, licking our knees. Lee couldn't even sit straight because there was so little leg room. It was a long bus journey!
