We woke today with nothing to do. It's raining, we've seen what we wanted to see so we just caught up on our sleep then Lee researched more on Hanoi and booked our accommodation whilst I updated the blog. We went out for food then sat in the bar drinking 60p beers. There are karaoke bars everywhere (I would love to go in and sing but they're all in foreign) there's never anyone singing usually but today they were on form. It's their New years day so they were singing, screaming blasting there lungs about it! Me and Lee were laughing everytime they really went for the high notes, so we're the staff but the other tourists seemed to not even hear it?! It was Vietnemese gold. We decided to buy a crate of Heineken and go back to the hotel. There was a new person on reception his name was Tow (toe) so we got the cards and invited him over. He was cool. He was fuming about the scam artists because they're not the true people of Vietnam. Him and Lee had a chat about something that seemed serious so I made friends with the little girl who lived in the hotel. She was only 8 and was learning English in school. That night I was woken at 12 by a girl shouting. Apparently she's fumin coz the biker taxi had took her over the other side of the river and tried to touch her inappropriately. She sounded French speaking English and used words I've never been taught in my language classes. The argument progressed as the taxi asked for more money whilst swearing at her (Are swear words international?) she threw his naughty word back at him and addressed it randomly to his family. She wished death upon his babies and his grandad? I'd got dressed all worried for the woman (I mean what makes you wish death on people? She must be really upset). I woke Lee, told him and he said I was just being nosey if I went down? Then went back asleep. The old man who owned the hotel ended up coming out to the taxi and the girl got ushered in so I went back to bed. I still don't know what actually happened but some of these bike taxis and the cyclo taxis are bad people!
