We were woken by the phone ringing. The bus is here for your tour.... We ran around and headed on a bus to the dragon boat. (The girls at the hotel had prepared a breakfast for us to take with us) The dragon boat was the slowest boat IN THE WORLD. It took us to a typical old school Vietnemese house (which we had to pay 30p pp for the privilege of looking at) next stop Thien Mu Pagoda (built from the orders of a king to mark the place where a beautiful woman appeared to say a great king is coming to make Vietnam great) 60p pp. Next (to be honest it looked like another house) Hon Chen temple 30p pp. Each stop incurred an entrance fee. Whilst the boat chugged along Me and Lee put our sunglasses on so they didn't notice us sleeping. Lees open mouth was a bit of a give away and me dropping my phone (it was supposed to be my prop) didn't help. They served us dinner which was rice and noodles. If you wanted any flavor you had to pay them extra! There was a couple of lads from Australia sat with us so we got talking and found out about a few extra creatures we didn't wanna know about in Oz. They told us about their 1st day in Hue. They'd got a cyclo taxi (a man riding a bike with a seat at the front for you to sit in) and did a tour they'd agreed a price if 40,000 to the places they'd wanted to go but when they had finished the Cyclo taxi suggested more places. 2 hours later the taxi pulled up at the side of the river and said they were tired so the lads would have to walk back to their hotel. They asked for 600,000pp.They obviously refused and said Max 100,000. The taxi driver started punching his hand saying 'I *naughty word* kill you' then started throwing cushions off his bike, shouting expletives and demanding the money. The lads said after about 20 mins of them saying 100,000 the drivers went down to 500,000 400,000 300,000 200,000 and it was settled on 150,000. Well not settled the cyclo taxi drivers were both still sticking their middle fingers up as the lads walked away shouting the naughty words at them! Moral of the story DONT USE A CYCLO TAXI. We went to Minh Mangs tomb, £1.40 pp, had a walk around and took some picks. The boat journey was over so we jumped on a bus to Khai Dinhs tomb, again £1.40 pp. This was a pretty one with Colourful ceramics decorated inside. we opted out of looking at Tu Duc tomb and went for a drink with the 2 Oz lads. 2 from Spain joined us too so we shared some stories of travels then headed back on the bus to the final stop where we were shown how incense sticks are made and how conical hats are made. It felt more like a shop that was a bit pushy for you to buy than a genuine tutorial but before we knew it we were heading back. It is Vietnams new years eve so we decided to grab something to eat, go back get a shower, have an hour (the time difference has really caught up on us) then go out to see the fireworks! We passed out and woke to the fireworks. Doh! They sounded good?! It was Sunday Skype day so Lee spoke to his mum on Skype then I rang My sister (I wanted to check on her bump and speak to Maggie but Martha's not really interested in talking to me. I'm gonna put it down to her age and not that she's super duper rude) I miss her so badly! After chatting to Rachael I rang my mum and dad. They're still the comedy duo! I spoke to Ms T too and Andrea. The internets amazing!
