We woke up and went down stairs for breakfast. Charlie was there. He met us at the bottom of the stairs showed us where the breakfast area was, got me a coffee and told me to sit down he'd bring it over. He was really welcoming, made us feel like we'd been there a while.
After breaky we went out to explore! George Town is beautiful. The floor is even pretend wood tiles! The buildings look brand new and clean. It was warm too so we had to jump in the shade every now and then to cool down. After wondering around, admiring the town Lee spotted a place that did floats.... Lee got root beer I got lemonade. Lee was in his element. Nope not for me! Plus I had a sip of Lee's and root beer tastes like mouth wash. We carried on exploring just like Dora and Boots... We had a map and backpack and everything!
There's a little India! So we wondered through. Here you can buy saris (I think that's how you spell it - the traditional indian dress) and Indian food, spices, art work. There's gorgeous architecture and Mosques. There's a huge Chinese influence in George Town too so there were fab Chinese buildings too.
We carried on wondering and ended up at the bottom of a tower where you pay and they take you to the top so you can see all of George Town.
After our day of exploring we were shattered so we headed back to the hostel to get showered. When I came down stairs Lee was talking to a Chinese lad called Maury. He was off out for tea with a Swiss lad called Daniel so we all went together. Maury is a food fanatic. He had read tonnes of blogs to find good food so he lead the way. We ended up in an alley way where the locals eat. They had noodles for about 20p! Whilst we were eating all of a sudden the heavens opened but it didn't faze the street workers. One man jumped up grabbed the little corrugated shelf above us and pulled it to extend it. It was so clever and cost effective! The lady who worked on the roadside stall just popped a rain mac on and carried on. The got a bucket to catch the rain pour from their ready made canopy. After food we headed to the club area. Theirs a strip with bars but it was empty. We had to go in Zenzibar! It was funky inside with glow up fish and jellyfish. We had a drink then went wondering then headed back.
